Murmuration

Murmuration is a contemplative virtual reality experience inspired by Heidi. Through four windows, the user observes the journey of a bird through the Swiss mountains, a direct metaphor for the heroine. Each window reveals a season and a facet of the narrative: playful summer scenes, autumn migration, winter wandering in the city, and springtime renewal.

A symbol of freedom and an ecological indicator, the bird moves through changing landscapes, leaving behind traces of the season it came from. The windows, a recurring motif in the book, become narrative and sensory interfaces. They can be opened to let the bird in or out. The surrounding room gradually fills with elements brought back by the bird, deepening the sense of immersion.

The installation uses hand tracking and a physical fan to add a tactile layer and make the experience more embodied.
